Default GranPrix coolant leak....

A friend of mine has a 2000 GTP and he took it to a garage and they told him it was leaking coolant at the gasket underneath the supercharger. Does this sound right, or did he misunderstand them? Any help or insight would be appreciated. I think it has about 95,000 miles on it.

Thanks

its possible. Can you visually see the leak, or where it is coming from?

it could also be (and probably is) the lower intake manifold gaskets, they are prone to failing.

Don't have a lot of details, waiting for him to call me. He '* a young guy (19) and just freaking out over this and thinks he should sell it.

Ok, just talked to him. He said you can see the coolant bubbling out of the gasket under the supercharger and it is pooling around the injectors. He is not going to run or drive the car anymore until fixed. I was incorrect on the mileage, by the way, it has only 74,000 on it.

that should be a simple fix. a new gasket and 2 yellow o-rings are around $10 and you should be able to fix it in your garage in under 2 hours.

remove fuel rail and supercharger and you are there.
