Default Cruise control

I own a 98 Pontiac Grand Prix with a 3.1 can anyone tell me what to look for with my cruise control it does not work where do I start thanks in advance

First, make a visual inspection...make sure the cable is intact to the throttle body....

Check third brake light, in some vehicles, if burnt out, the cruise does not work....

Check that brake switches on brake pedal are properly adjusted...

If all are ok, then you need a wiring diagram.......disconnect harness to cruise module....check the cruise control switch outputs first.....then Power and ground......check signal from brake switch...

Did you check for a cruise inhibit code?
