Default 04 Grand Am fuel pump won't turn on.

04 Grand Am gt. 150k miles. V6.
Recently replaced front struts then on my test drive I was having fun and floored the accelerator. Few minutes later the engine started to bog down and finally stalled. It will crank but won't start. The fuel pump relay is good as well as the fuel pump fuse from the under hood fuse box. Engine will start after a shot of ether but dies after a few seconds. I pressed the Schrader valve on the fuel rail and no fuel came out. When I first turn the key to "on" the security light and check engine light comes on. After a failed start, the security light goes out but the check engine light remains on. My OBD mx blue tooth link says there are no stored codes. I also do not hear the hum of the fuel pump. Replaced the fuel filter. I've read about possible security or bcm issues. I'm looking for guidance to assure me that it'* the fuel pump before I drop the tank - which happens to be full. How do I test to see that the fuel pump is getting power?

Find the harness at the tank and find out which pin is +, attach a test light or multi-meter and have someone turn the key on.

it only stays on for a few seconds so you have to do as mike said while you are watching it

Bang on the fuel tank while cranking, good possibility fuel pump is the problem. You sure there is fuel in the tank? Check you circuits as mentioned.

Disconnect the harness to the tank....attach a test light to the fuel pump circuits, black and grey wires, at the C and D connectors of the harness....

Turn key to "on"......test light shines for 2 seconds and goes out....now have someone crank the vehicle......light will be on, as long as you crank......if it does this you need a pump....
