aem wideband radio interference whine
 

I just recently installed a aem uego wideband in my car and now i have this whine coming from the speakers. my switched power source is coming from the blower motor power off the ignition harness and ground is under the kickpanel. Its not a very loud whine... and cannot be heard with the radio up a little bit or blower motor etc.... It also doesnt change with RPMs I have tryed multiple power sources and grounds still no luck. wondering if other people have had the same problem and maybe a fix would be a ground loop filter for the radio?

You need a direct and solid body ground. As for power, I wouldn't tap into the large brown or orange wires under the ignition switch. Those supply almost everything in the car that's ignition fed. Find a circuit that has almost nothing on it in the fuse box and tap into that. Or consider the power drop on the passenger side.

well i used the power drop on the passanger side for my power and still not gone. I moved the ground several times , I even tryed grounding straight to the battery no difference): all my connections are good and soldered i hate crimp connectors lol. Any other ideas on how i can fix this issue?

Bad plug wire !! Or a bad ground somewhere

Alot of things can do this. Even Fuel pumps can affect low frequency radios. One common area to check is the antenna's coax feedline is grounded properly both at the radio and where the mounting bracket touches the body. I have heard of grounding the trunk and hood to the body have helped with these radios as well.

Well the problem isnt just with the radio its with the cd player and even my ipod. I did notice that when i hooked up the switched power to the power drop it got worse... so i was thinking of running + and - to the battery and then just wireing in a relay to turn it on and off think that may do it it would then get it away from all the car audio stuff

If its in other equipment as well, i would check the grounding. Especially the main ground from the battery.

What spark plugs/wires are using?

I will check the battery ground tomorrow that would make sense. But y wouldnt it pose a problem before i installed the wideband? Just curious i have heard it is common with widebands and i forgot to mention it goes away when i shut the sterio off

Along with Bill's suggestion for a direct and solid body ground, you can use a ground loop isolator. Some are better than others, but if you get a good one it should pretty much eliminate the noise. Those gauges can really make some noise.
