Default 3800 grand am?

Would it be pheasable to put a 3.8 in a 01ish grand am? the trans' are the same i thought so I would just have to mount it like a grand prix and computer swap right?

Same trans helps a lot. You will need the correct PCM and wiring harness. You may need to change motor mounts, not sure though.

So its not an insane idea, it looks like I could use the same mounting as a gp

You might need to adjust the exhaust, not sure. I've never done it, but it should be very doable. You dropping in a L67 or a L36?

Motor mounts are completely different. You will have to fabricate your own mounts.

they looked the same at a glance. I guess I'll just stick to finishing my 95 before I go and do something custom

Wow them boys on the GA forum are a bunch of .... hahaha

Here is a car domain with pics of the swap, if your considering this, this guy at the time of posting had 100+ hours in it

Wow they seem to have something against the 3800 there

It takes time to do things right. And besides I would like to see you build a setup like mine any faster while making 7.75 an hour and paying for college.

3800 = fail and anyone here who supports it should gtfo and go join clubgp. /thread
