2006 Pontiac Grand Prix 3.8 Non SC HELP!!!

Got some issues with my Grand Prix non supercharged. Posted pictures below of the codes that appear. These only appeared after changing the crankshaft Position sensor today. Originally was only triggering the crankshaft sensor code not the other 3.... changed the sensor now it’s worse. Where should I start looking next? ICM? ECM? Need some input some someone with experience with these cars and codes.

Did you do a crank relearn?

I did after those codes came up and the crankshaft code remains.

So . . . all of the other codes are now gone?

Scanner247 01-07-2020 01:09 PM

It appears so. We ended up replacing the battery after doing the relearn as it turned out to be damn near dead. So far I’m unable to get the codes to return but I will be trying again later once it’s fully cooled down. Fingers crossed it was just a dying car battery. Never seen a dead battery throw codes like this before.

Yeah that's weird. So then all of the codes are gone including the crankshaft code?

Low voltage can cause modules to flake out.

Scanner247 01-07-2020 09:19 PM

Yup seems to be good so far, all codes are gone. Will update if it changes.

Cool! Good luck!

Since all of those sensor require a minimum voltage to get their own reference voltage, a low or dead battery while trying to crank will cause a lot of codes to appear.
