1998 Pontiac Grand Prix supercharged 3800 motor series CV axle no transmission proble

I was pulling out on a hill after stopping at a stop sign and my CV axle broke while driving I fix the CV axle I bought it brand new. I tried driving the car there was a jerk while trying to move so I immediately stopped. I took it to a transmission shop he says oh your transmission is blown without doing anything but looking at it. Saying it's going to cost $2,000 I've already poured $3,000 into a car that's not even worth the money that I have already put into it it's not worth it at all. I have had multiple people tell me that it's probably something where the axle has just came out of the transmission and has not been properly installed or something but my transmission has never given me any problems it's never given signs of going out never a problem the car starts up runs wonderful it's just now when you try to go the acceleration will not continue it will not speed up it will slow down it gets stuck it does not want to go past 3rd gear it had transmission fluid there's nothing like doubt someone please help has anyone ever had a problem like this everyone's trying to charge me $3,000 to fix a car that's not even worth 2000 tired I love this car and I want to save it. I'm just struggling now I can't afford to keep placing so much money into a car that will not work everything on this car is brand new except for the transmission and the power steering pump which needs to be replaced next. If anyone has ever had a problem with a Grand Prix supercharged with this transmission trouble out of the blue after a CV axle is there any way to fix it without having to put so much money into Fixing a Hole transmission.

If the output is bad it'll need a complete tear down.

Chain and sprockets?

Do you have another trans or mechanical shop that it could be moved to for a 2nd opinion?

What part of the CV axle broke?

So, you fixED the axle?

Was this the first time you drove it after fixing it?

This isn't a bad price for a complete overhaul at a reputable shop.

If it is even remotely installed correctly, this can't happen. Have you looked?

Some punctuation would help here. Are you saying it works now but only decelerates? This does not make sense to me.

Does it still have transmission fluid?

Others have had trouble with these transmissions similar to what I think you're describing, but we need more information if we are to help diagnose this over the Internet.

It is unfortunate, however, it is common for a given repair to cost more than a vehicle is worth. Just because a car is only worth $1,000.00 retail doesn't mean that a transmission overhaul becomes easier and takes less parts.

So engine, supercharger, radiator, alternator, water pump, etc. etc. have all been replaced? Engine replacements on these are rare, so I wonder what could have happened to cause the engine to be replaced and the transmission remain behind.

Again, need a better description here with more clarity and punctuation. Almost all of our problems happen after a previous one was fixed.

We'll also need to know things like:

How many miles are on this car?

How many miles have you owned it?

What region does it live in?

What other work has been done to it since you've had it?
