You will see a bolt that goes through the center of the TA mount, that runs parallel to the frame. That is the bolt that will separate the mount. When that bolt comes out, mount should cut loose. I don't know if extra "persuasion" is usually necessary on those, or if it just jumps out. If it doesn't just jump out, I would be inclined to put the top 2 TA mount bolts back in after that bolt is removed, and jack the engine a bit to see if it will pop loose. I will let gearheads throw a flag on the play if they think that is a bad idea.

Any chance you can post up a picture of what'* going on? You could try jacking up the engine a bit to help move things a bit.

I'll try to get a picture later today when the snow stops. Picture above is very similar to the type of mount I have, but I see there are no A/C lines in the area. Must be a different year or model? I have Pontiac service manuals on the way but haven't gotten here yet.

Ok, got 3 pics. As far as I can tell the hole/sleeve that the long bolt goes through seems to run through the rubber from end to end. Is this mount actually two pieces? I just tried a pry bar on it again and it just does nor seem to be two pieces. I assume it should be because otherwise there would be no need for the long bolt going through it.

The picture above is mine, I removed my AC. Can't tell in your pictures but there are 4 bolts holding the mount to the frame. 2 on top, you have them out. And 2 under going towards the outside of the frame. You only need to loosen them as the holes are slotted. Then the frame side lifts straight up.

Look at this picture where I marked the sleeve with red. Should this sleeve slide out once the big long bolt is removed? The sleeve is steel and is basically 'captured' between the saddle of the piece that bolts to the engine. It also seems like this sleeve is molded into the rubber part.

From what I can tell, you need to lift. The engine rests on that sleeve, and the bolt just keeps it in place. I would be inclined at this point, to lift the engine a little bit. The top half of the mount only rests on that sleeve. With the bolt gone, it should just lift off, then you can get the body portion out. Biggest thing is the A/C lines, but I don't know to undo the clip that holds the lines in. If it don't come apart, I would PB Blast/WD-40 the metal because it may have corroded solid. Worst case scenario, bolt the top bolts back in, then start jacking on the engine a little bit. Either the mount starts coming apart, or the the car starts jacking up. If the car starts jacking up, you may need to hit it with a hammer to break the corrosion bond.

I have a jack under the oil pan and have tried lifting it but it seems that it is lifting the engine and the car as well. It'* just really frustrating that this is holding up the whole show. Where it is marked with red on the sleeve, the sleeve seems to be captured inside of the piece that is bolted to the engine. You would think that once that big bolt was out, it would free that sleeve from the engine half, but it hasn't and I find it hard to believe that GM would make it so horribly difficult to get the water pump out. I've gotta be missing something or these parts are frozen together and I haven't used enough persuasion on them. If the snow has melted off the car I'll look again tonight. Maybe the service manuals I ordered will have arrived today..............

I don't recall seeing you reply to my request. have you looked under the frame side of the mount. There are 2 bolts there hidden from view.

My understanding of the issue at hand is that the mount is not separating as at should.

You see what the frame side of the mount looks like, and from there you can extrapolate what the mount should do.

I just double checked again to be absolutely sure. The only way off, is straight up.

My recommendation at this point? PB Blaster, and BFH.
