Default Air ride suspension

I know my car has the air asist suspension on it. I am wondering if there is a way to adjust that manually or not. You see these Bonnnies going in to race at the drag strip with the rear higher in the air to get weight to the front tires. How are they doing that?

The older models would run WITHOUT the key on, straining the battery. Who ever designed the cars like that back then was't too bright.

i disagree.....

the Pump only runs if you have a leak and then its limited to 10 min at a time....

i personally like the fact that it will keep the weight off of the rear springs at all times

The shocks don't really keep the weight off the rear springs.

i disagree....with the ELC system, and a load in the trunk, the ELC will keep the car at a normal ride heigth, thus keeping the rear springs from compressing the rear springs over time, and causing saggy Butt....ask anyone who saw my car before the ELC install....my rear springs were shot because they were compressed from the vehicles weight

So you would rather strain the battery in -10 to -20 degree temps, just to keep the weight off the rear springs? No thanks. Our batteries are strained enough in this cold weather, we don't need other things running and putting more strain on the battery while the car is not on. Thank goodness for the 00+'*!

Moved to Performance and Brainstorming. This isn't a mechanical problem.

My opinion is this:

There is no strain on the battery. Why not have the ELC keep your ride height correct and help keep some load off springs that are a PITA to change?

FTR, the 92-99 are very easy to trick 'up' for the track. No need to mess with the level sensor at all.
