Question Thermostat

95 bonnie seems as if my car wants to try and overheat. driving the otha day and noticed my temp gauge went over 200, it gav me a check gauges warning but it never went to the red. opened the hood after turning vehicle off and the coolant reservoir was bubbling like crazy. i do have a bleeder valve over the t-stat housing, went to bleed it and it was pushn out air for a while then the coolant started to flow.

Q: its it safe for me to remove my t-stat, and should my upper radiator hose be this tight while engine running ?

if you are going to remove it you might as well replace it they are only a few bucks. make sure you bleed the air out of it after you refill the system

If your engine is over heating, it'* not the thermostat. If you had air in the system that would explain your over heat. Remove the radiator cap, when cold, and top off the radiator. Don't top it off from the tank.

You may be leaking coolant from your UIM. Known problem leaking around those ports on either side of the EGR pipe.
