Wheelie Bars!!! Weee......
I've been reading this article from Intense Racing Intense racing suspension
Has anyone done any performance suspension upgrades on their cars? I want to launch better this race season but dont want to loose the ride of my car. I have been thinking of lowering it about an 1" and adding stiffer springs but if there is something I can bolt on and off that would be better? I am going to run 26" drag radials up front and 28" in the rear, that will help but I think I'm going to need more

The record 60' time for a FWD L67 powered car was set by Zooomer. Zooomer doesn't use wheelie bars, so obviously there are other ways to launch the car decent. I just recommend some wide, sticky slicks with ~13psi in them, and your air ride in the back pumped up all the way with ~40psi in the rear tires. That and the right footwork, and you should be set to pull some halfway decent 60 foot times.

myself, i have a few people sit on the back of the car, till the air ride maxs out, then i unplug the pump electrical connector and it stays there. also if you go with a smaller diam. tire in the front. it will give you a better final drive ratio. my bonneville has a final drive of 2.97. i use mickey thompson ET DRAG slicks that are 22x8x15 with 23 psi in them. this gives me a final drive of 3.51. i have zero wheel spin and with my mods at the time, i had cnsistant 1.95-1.99 60' times. i have only seen a few with wheelie bars and i think they are from intense.

they could but that may be a pain to do. air ride works great. if you can, find a drag radial with a smaller dia. . some of the import places may have them.our tires stock are like 26" in diam. also another thing to look into is a LSD. traction is the key.

Since you have to go with DOT tires, get some Mickey Thompson ET Streets. They are slicks with little tiny narrow slots in them, making them street legal, but still basically slicks. That is what we run on the GTP and it has pulled quite a few 1.7X 60'*.
Like Jeffrey said, run a shorter tire to give yourself a shorter final drive ratio to make the car run quicker.
