Not without reprogramming for your different gear ratio, and that'* for the L36 as well. By the time you won that auction at it'* current price and paid their shipping, you could have purchased a new INTENSE PCM for your car, and got the correct one.

I think if you want to get back original, you need it to be reprogrammed or reflashed,..

basically what it do:

-Better air/fuel mixture at done RPM...
-Speed limiter removed
-You can raise your shift point, stock 5500rpm (rocker, cam)
-Firmer shift(inrease oil line pressure in transmission) it shift quicker
-skip shift (4-2 3-1 at WOT)
-traction control disable (i think)
-ajust to 160-180 thermostat
and probably other goodies...

it seem to make a good improvement over stock.

At Intense you can send your PCM so they can reprogram it for you (99$) or buy one directly from Intense (179$)

I agree with Mike, It does make a noticeable improvment over stock.

I love mine, I have had mine for well over a year and no problems, It just really wakes the car up.

Oh yeah and Intense are second to none to deal with.

In most cases the only thing you would need to go to the dealership for after swapping PCMs is a "case Learn" procedure. Thats the ONLY thing you would need the dealership to do. No reflash-lol

*edit-I do remeber some cars having something with security. Maybe Mr. Allen (Rogue) can step in and answer that one?

I read at Intense a procedure to do that manualy, ( if you were talking about that)
quoted from Intense site:

"05 Impala and Monte Carlo Security Relearn Procedure

For Bonneville, Regal, Impala, and Monte Carlo vehicles 1997-2004:

Set the parking brake to disable the daytime running lights system to avoid draining the vehicles battery.
Try to start the vehicle by turning the key to the START position (using a Master Pass-Key key, not a Valet key). Allow the key to fall back into the ON position. DO NOT TURN THE KEY TO THE OFF POSITION.
Observe the SECURITY telltale on the dashboard or driver information center. After approximately ten minutes it should turn off for the first time.
Turn OFF the ignition and wait for ten seconds.

You will be suprised that a lot of dealerships have no clue what a case learn is. At least the ones around here.

My dealership upped their price to $33 per case learn-lol. So with alll the work we do, it was not even an option to get a powertuner. If you live anywhere near Fremont, OH I'll give your car a case learn for free.
There may be some dealerships in your area that are reasonable on the procedure ~$10 or so.
