Something insulative and reflective. Mine is both. I bought the pipe insulation tape from Home Depot. $4 for a roll. It's 3/16" thick foam insulation with reflective foil backing.
Home Depot also has the Acrylic in several thicknesses. Thinner if you're going to bend, thicker if not. |

Can you see how mine is done? The filter makes it easy to mount. I used brackets to put it together with short sheetmetal screws, and thumbscrews to remove the top easily. If you really wanna get nuts, use a large shallow pan of water across two burners on the stove. Use this to heat it up for bending. ;)
PRACTICE first! Have a template made up, and think ahead about things you can use to bend things right. I have better pics of mine somewhere if you want them. |
