Ideas for forced intake?
I was just reading up on the intake mod thread and I had the idea of maybe running some 2" or maybe 3" plastic pipe up to my air box from the slot under the bumper? In the 93-97 bonnevilles the bumpers have a long oval slot underneath which is basially pointless it seems because you have to get on your hands and knees 40 ft away just to see it but w/e. But then taking some oil funnels and attaching them onto the end of the tubing and hiding them behind that slot on the bumper. Sound good? Otherwise you guys have any ideas?

I think I know what you're talking about, right in front of the radiator? I thought about this, and actually messed around with the idea but I decided not to stick with it for lack of proper tubing. I ran a plastic hose up to there and connected the filter but I didn't like the distance or the turn. I supposed ducting air from that area into the engine compartment could be good, but I don't believe having a filter there is good (lots of road dust, radiator blockage, and tight turns).
Of course, assuming we're talking about the same thing.
(You should put your year and trim model in your sig ^^

I think you are lol. The long slot under the liscense plate there. I think youre right about the debris problem too. Did you find a better way to setup the airbox? Or is there somewhere I can find some pics of what they did?

Although I'm moving them up to the zone you're talking about due to ground clearance issues. I'm making custom fiberglass scoops for mine. But I'm also adding air passages to the lower part of the bumper cover to get more air to the lower part of the radiator since I'll be blocking some with the new pickups.

for the record, ram air does virtually nothing, especially if you start putting sharp bends in it in order to get air from under the car.. air can not be compressed enough at reasonable autmotive speeds in order to make more power.

Mine obviously (because of the supercharger) isn't truly ram-air. I'm force-feeding the airbox (CAI) in order to prevent my SC from pulling hot engine bay air. It provides a constant source of clean cold air. In that topic I linked to, the tempurature data speaks for itself. Effective at 30mph and above. VERY effective.

I kinda wanted to try something new maybe? Othrwise I might just take that old bumper and try to build a front bumper kit out of it. Anybody know the process and making a body kit? lol
