transmission modulator valve

I recently installed an adjustable modulator because of course i wanted to firm up the shifts. In the paper that it came with it said not to go more than 4 turns or it could cause damage to the transmission. My question is if anyone thinks it is safe to go any further without causing any harm? I am at that maximum 4 turns now and i still would like it to be a bit firmer, although it did firm it up some. Also is it normal for the old modulator to rattle when you take it out? Lastly, how much improvement did anyone else see from doing this, did anyone break the tires loose going into second? ..just wondering. By the way the part i bought is part#mv303 from the zone in case anyone was wondering. Thanks for any input.

I just adjusted mine so that it didn't bang when i put it into drive or any time while shifting.
It's all pretty much a trade off. If your clutch packs arent taking a beating then your hard parts are going to.
I wouldn't be trying to chirp the tires in 2nd unless you have real trans work done.
And IIRC my old modulator did rattle. I think its just the tip of the modulator on the side that goes in the trans.

If it bangs when you engage it into Reverse, back the modulator off for sure...like Mike said above..these tranys tend to eat up Reverse Reactor shells, it absorbes alot of shock load when the Modulator is cranked up too high

It don't bang putting it into drive or reverse. It does shift much better than before but i was just wondering if i could get away with a couple more turns without hurting anything. It says on the package to adjust 1 turn at a time and not to exceed 4 turns because damage could occur. I have it adjusted 4 turns now...Thanks again for the input
