Default exhaust questions

OK I was checking out the factory exhaust on my bonneville and i noticed it has the same exhaust like the camaros/firebirds do, with the one outlet on one side, and an outlet on the otherside with the inlet. or whatever, you know what i mean, with the single muffler in the back. So would a aftermarket f-body muffler fit easily? What is the diameter of the OEM exhaust? Although it is a little too long for my tastes, it looks plenty big enough.

wait- its smaller going into the muffler than when coming out? having the U-bend removed should be a fairly simple process correct?

i want to go ahead and get the correct muffler and be all situated to get teh u bend fixed when i carry the stuff to my exhaust man to install. theres no way im buying a cat back for this car (do they even make one???)

ON A SIDE NOTE: even though Im only a couple hours from the goerlich muffler factory here in NC, I cant find anyone who carries their "xleraror" line of mufflers. do any of you in other states know where I might be able to buy them?

You don't have a U-Bend for the o2 like the GP'* do...

The muffler must still be mounted tranversely, You won't be getting rid of any bends.
