Engine swapping.
Can anyone tell me if a V8 engine could be swapped with a n/a 3.8 from a 95 Bonne sle? Which is the biggest it can handle and such.

Straight answer, no.
If you are talking about putting a V-8 in our cars, in a FWD manner, you would go through way too many transmissions. Not even worth it.
If you are talking about putting a V-8 in our cars, in a RWD manner, this is where it is possible. However, we do NOT have a chassis on our cars. We have a Sub-frame in which the powertrain is all mounted to. There is also a little bit of strength in the back for the rear wheels. But other than that, all the regitity is placed on the body. And there is no way could have a RWD setup without a chassis. So, what does that entail? Well, it entails having a custom chassis built specifically to our cars. Modifying the body a little bit, to make it mount properly, and removing all of the old sub-frame whatnot. Then it would just be a matter of fitting the engine under the hood. I'm not sure about the 92+, but on my '89, I would certainly say it is a viable option to fit a small block V-8 in there. You can forget about a Big-block however.
This topic has been discussed before. Unless you have a whole heap of money, forget about it.

I'm sure he could tuck a caddy 4.5 or 4.9 pushrod V8 in there... The 4.9 was attached to the 4T60-E HD through 1994... Possibly 95... I forget what the last year was for the 4.9...
I think the C and H bodies are a lot alike.... I have heard of this being done...
But remember that the 4.9 made 200 Hp and 260 Ft lbs bone stock...
The 92-93 L67 or 3800 SC made 205 Hp and 265 Ft lbs
94-95 L67 was good for 225 hp and 275 Tq
96-03 L67 was good for 240 Hp and 280 Tq...<--- we have found this to be underrated
A few have done 260hp and 330tq
By the time you have dealt with all of this it may have been easier and cheaper to find a 96-98 SSEi Supercharged

Bah, didn't think much was possible. I'll just convert it to RR and stick a V12 in the backseat/trunk
But, like I said, I was just curious. I'll probably end up getting that $3,000 turbocharger for power upgrade.

I just finished taking a 4.5 v8 out of my 1989 Caddy Deville. There is no way you could get that to fit, and still operate with factory reliabiity. It was enough of a pain to get it out of the Lac, I am not looking forward to putting the new one in. (1995 was the last year for the 4.9). I also looked into an early Aurora swap, also too much work. The L67 is the hands down choice.
