All righty, good luck. It'* been fun, though. Let me know if you'd like to consider some more crazy ideas!

Just read through this all, and my honest recommendation is to top swap it. That'* the easiest and cheapest way to make more power. You don't have to remove the engine, you just have to get the top swapped and a new PCM on there, and you're closer to beating him.

It just seems to be a little difficult getting to the rear heads due to the space provided plus I would be a little afraid of blowing my trans. Plus I dont feel like my suspension could handle the power, It is a 15yo car and the person who had the car before me must have been very hard on it because 2 weeks into owning it it threw a rod bearing hence the 00 regal engine.

Along with the harmonic balancer which it took a great deal to get it off of the block when I pulled the original block out

I disagree and have had not only a cam but many other mods as well. Fuel economy drops with transmission gear changes and a heavy foot on the throttle.

With lower 3.29 gears, heads, cam, rockers on top of the cam, a different charger, smaller pullies, larger TB and MAF etc etc, my Bonneville was still getting a respectable 20-25mpgs. The reason behind the 20mpg was ...once you have the power, it'* tough to keep your foot from disobeying.

The only difference between the 4T65E that you have and the 4T65E-HD that the L67'* had is the differential and the final drive ratio. That differential can be swapped over to your transmission, which would actually be a better idea and is what I ended up doing.

As for suspension, that'* something you're going to have to deal with either way if you want more power anyway.

I'll drink to that. I've just finished tuning spark tables on my L67, and although I only have a 3.4 pulley and headers, stock cam and rockers, I managed 19mpg the last fill-up of ~260miles with over 20 0-60 wide open throttle runs. When tuned properly, these cars get very respectable fuel economy.

The differential is on the passenger side. You'll need to remove the diff cover, and pull that out. I believe there are a couple more easy things to replace. Someone here should know everything you'll need to do a diff swap. I had an HD diff put into my 4T65E transmission for my car, which allowed me to have 3.29 gearing. If you were nearby, I'd sell you that diff for cheap when I swap in my 5 speed manual.

Keep in mind, anything you do as far as performance is going to require a tune. You'll either need to find someone who can tune, or invest $500 into your own hptuners interface.
