Throttle Body Spacers

How does a throttle body spacer help out? I have noticed a few bonneville owners have this. where do you get them and how hard is it to install? Thanks.

Maybe turtle could help me out on this one since I remember his name specifically and noticed his car had it.

Essentially the spacer insulates the heat-producing intake manifold (or Supercharger) from the air temp sensor. This allows the computer to read a cooler air temp, thus enriching your fuel/air mixture.

This helps a bit at WOT.

Well.. the TB spacer is suppose to put more room between the TB and the intake plenum.. therefore supposeidly cooling the air down. IT's also used if you want NOS and don't want to drill into your TB. However.. I"ve been hearing and know of a lot of GP guys having a lot of problems with the spacer.. something to do with the gasket not being right, and blowing off into the intake reeking havoc inside the engine .
