Default A Newbie'* Wishlist.

So I admit it. I know next to nothing about cars. I have a 2000 Bonneville SE and I was looking into adding a some more HP with cold air intake and maybe an exhaust system (unless superchargers exist). I've been searching online but haven't found much for any Bonnevilles...let alone for 2000+ models.

Does any sort of performance CAI or exhaust system exist for a 2000 SE? If so, where can I find info about them, info about installing them, where to buy them, etc?

Thanks for any help you can give!

First of all, welcome to the forum! Second of all....you're gonna LOVE this place.

To answer your questions.....adding a supercharger to a Bonneville SE isn't an easy option. The SSEi comes stock with one, but don't sweat it, the SE with the 3800 Series II motor is a strong beast with tons of potential! You're right, though, there isn't alot out there, but you just landed right smack in the middle of EVERYTHING that exists.

As far as a CAI, none exist commercially. Most of us have created our own, but there are two different guys on our site that are working on them. You can link to their websites at
www.domesticperformance.com

or
www.angryducktofuracing.com

Exhaust is much the same. No bolt-ons exist that I know of, but there are tons of possibilities. Simply welding in a hi-flow catalytic converter and a better muffler will probably get you where you want to be. This is the place to ask all your questions.
You'll get more answers than you ever hoped for. Great bunch of guys (and a couple gals) here.

If you use the search function, you'll probably find answers to most of your questions, but don't hesitate to ask the group. We like re-hashing everything!

One thing you might want to consider doing very soon is going to your profile and adding what you have in your signature....that way we know what'* up when you post something. Look at my sig below to see what I'm talking about.

We've got drivetrain experts, a GM parts man (works for a dealership), body guys, tranny guys, auto wreckers.....all members. You name it, they're here!

Again, welcome to the forum Terran!

Dude if you want more power with your stock plant and you are willing to spend some cash then look into the ZZ performance series 2 non sc / SC kit. Il find the link again and add it. Oh just a note no matter what anyone says always check around and do your research. Safer is better than sorry.

Have fun.
Ty

OUCH....that'* spendy. For that much more money, anyone could sell a NA Bonnie, and buy an SSEi, and STILL have money to put into it!

Yes it is not cheap but a sc bonny has 240hp and the sc kit puts out 335hp. now with the kit you can turn up the boost and play much like the normal SC. If you sell your car and buy a sc version you will find that you have to spend more money to catch up with the se sc kit. Also look at what the kit includes. Its not better but you don’t have to sell your car to get it.

Am I missing something?? Why don’t people like zz performance?? I mean there site was a bit silly, but they seem ok to me.

Research is a must. You need to feel comfortable and know exactly what you’re getting yourself into.
I am interested in what you learn, please share how it goes.
