this is what makes them ZZP Pacesetters
While these headers are a great low cost product, there is a small problem with the Y leaking. ZZP is the first and only company to develop a solution. The problem is caused from the pipe going into the Y being too small or the Y expanded section being too large (there is a 70 thou difference, which we decrease to 20). To correct this we use our expander to increase the size of the pipe going into the Y. This seems to correct the leakage problem. Below is a picture with a stock pipe, our corrected expanded pipe, and the Y section. All of the pacesetters from ZZP are currently shipping like this. We have them in stock in coated and non-coated.

Yikes. I see some pretty bad welds, missed welds, and pitted flanges. That'* gotta be the ugliest set of NEW headers I've seen. No offense, bud, I think they'll be ok, but I'd put a bit of work into them first.

Yup, I was going to post the same thing. I can't believe the crevasses in the headers and how half assed that is. I'd go to a good exhaust shop and get some of those welds fixed up.

I saw tons of missing weld spots, the inside of your exhaust shouldn't have so many little corners, it should be smooth one way flow. Get someone to fill up the holes, and finish up welding where you see slits or gaps, then grind them down smooth.

They missed the entire seam. Top to bottom in the pic where the pipes come together.

And here:

I can't believe this got by quality control or final inspection. This is good for flow? And a good weld? This needs to be fixed on both accounts.

that slit does not go all the way though.. it wont leak.. is it still a flow problem?

these other pipes are outlets, the flow doesnt matter on the outlets does it?

Yes they do matter, for various reasons. Flow, lack of turbulence, and rigidity.

On the one that 'doesn't matter' can you see they TRIED to weld it? They MISSED. The evidence is there. It should be welded. Those edges will heat up nastily because they are two sharp edges without a contiguous weld. That will make it expand and contract over time, flexing the pieces and weakening the entire structure.

That'* true for a few spots in those.

Grind the PIPE out of there. That'* an intrusion.....flow disturbance. Quality control.

Andrew, these have potential, but as they sit, they won't last as long as TOG'* or *&*. These aren't nearly the same quality.

Address the issues, and you'll have a good set. Now we know why they go for cheaper than the competition.
