Default 15 second L36 Olds - What do I need?

Hey guys
Just trying to get everything straight in my head on this.
I would like to build my Olds to run a 15.0-15.1 in the quarter mile at maybe 92 mph or so?

This is what I have in mind. Just a goal. What my plan is for the following mods. (Some are on the car already)

- CAI
- P & P LIM
- PEMS
- Low restriction cat
- 97+ or MSD coils
- 1.9 rockers
- Tranny rebuild with 3.06
- PCM reprogrammed for tranny mod and 6000 RPM shifts

Do you guys think this will get me to my goal? Should be a nice running car regardless. WIll the rockers give me enough, or do I need to go for a cam?

Am I missing anything?
Am I out to lunch?

Thanks!
Erik

Add headers. Also, do you have the 2.84 or 3.06 gearing? 2.84 sucks and will hinder you big time. For the PCM you will need to go custom because they don't support us. My PCM negates every mod I do so if yours is the same I suggest it be the first thing you do. IE: I ran 14.8 with a 3.5" pulley, rockers, gutted box, and HF cat.

Yup. 3.06 is on the list. The 2.84 it has right now is just stupid. Add to that the real haevy Olds touring Sedan wheels, and it is a slug off the line.

PCM part I have covered. I have been talking with Ryan at Sinister, and he can handle my 1995 OBD 1.5 just fine.

If you're going to cam, do headers. If just rockers, stick to PEM'*. Personally, I don't think you'll need to cam/headers to reach your goal...I think rockers/PEMs will be enough.

As you've already stated, the tranny gearing is your biggest nemesis. You'll have a very hard time getting there until you change out the gearing.

As to your proposed mod list, it all looks pretty good to me...except:

1) Might want to use SR or ER rockers instead of 1.9'*
2) Add a 00+ L67 TB and a mini-AFC (v1.1 would be fine)
3) I'll be testing a 2.5" DP very soon...alone, then with a HF cat...I'll keep you posted

Thanks Andrew
The SR or Er'* make more sense. Different ratios for intake and exhaust if I remember correctly?
The L67 TB might be a challenge to tune with my OBD 1.5. The basic tuning I can have Ryan do, but I am thinking that will take a little on hands tuning to make that work.
Oh, and whats a mini-AFC?
Please let me know about the 2.5 DP!

Go ER rockers, or nothing lol. I loved my ER rockers and gained a solid 3 tenths and 2.5 MPH with just them.

As for mods i would go
CAI
PEM'*
High flow cat
ER Rockers
P&P LIM
Shaven TB shaft (can be cheaply done and has been shown to give gains)
Cooling Mods (if you dont have any)
Full Tune up (if you havent already done it)
A nice cool night

I think that will get you where you want to be.

You'll have to spend quite a bit. Stock S2 L67'* run in that range. I think you're going to need everything listed and a cam, plus a tuner and alot of knowledge on a perfect track in ideal conditions to hit that in a Bonneville.

AFC is an "air fuel controller". It goes between the MAF sensor and the harness, and is programmed to change the MAF frequency read by the PCM. In effect, you can put a different MAF/TB on, and the AFC alters the frequency to match the frequency/airmass table in your PCM, so that you read the proper airflow even though the TB is different (bigger). So long as you are using unmodified TB'* with known MAF tables, and you don't exceed the upper end of the airflow table in your PCM (which you won't n/a), no PCM programming is needed.

Used AFC'* (old technology) are pretty cheap these days, as are L67 TB'*.
