Default Planning on porting LIM... any suggestions?

So after making a statement that I would not really be making any performance enhancements to this car, Ed McGrath mentioned something that sparked an interest in my mind for two reasons.

First reason... I feel completely capable and comfortable doing this, being that I've never gotten into any work deeper than the intake manifold on any vehicle (which I've done about six times, mainly @ school and once on my Grand Marquis when coolant crossover cracked). Second reason... it seems to be quite cost efficient.

I'm looking for any opinions or suggestions before I do this. It will probably be a month or a few months before I get to it, but I definitely want to consider it. I've been peeking through oldER threads such as:

http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...ic.php?t=72094
and
http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...ic.php?t=74427
and then scaring myself chitless with
http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...ic.php?t=74804
until I read into it and realized fate was imminent already... and I have a 3yr/36k mi warranty on my motor with a bunch of hilly billy technicians that diagnose via noise. I've seen it done several times through friends. They start it, if they hear a bad knock, or if it doesn't start PERIOD, they call the warranty company and ask for a replacement lol.

I'm not sure that I'm comfortable porting my LIM myself... as my dremel skills are somewhat rusty. However if I had a junk LIM to practice with first, then I'd probably do my own. Only reason I'm not confident with myself is I didn't 100% understand the measurements mentioned in the above threads. I'd be afraid to shave too far one way, and not enough the other.

So... I'm open for suggestions, opinions from those of you already having performed this mod, and anything else I should consider. I'm probably going to replace the UIM, and any gaskets unnecessary considering the date stamp is showing that it is original, and I do believe the rusty coolant reservoir as seen in the pic below is the ever so evil DEX cool.
.
I'm going to refer to the Techinfo about all the parts I should consider replacing, but could anybody throw a condensed list out there of what I should be looking to buy over the next several months to perform this mod?

Thanks guys... appreciate it.

Here'* another one for you:

Don't OVER-port by any means. No more than .9 by 1.9 inches, and smooth the runners. No need to polish them, just smooth them. Make sure you keep the ports centered on the head ports (take an equal amount off each side).

Put it back together with an improved LIM, aluminum lower gaskets, reduced diameter stovepipe, and lose the DEX.

Consider cleaning your TB per Techinfo at the same time.

Ok... what tool would you recommend for smoothing them? I was thinking something that would fit on to my dremel or drill chuck like a wire brush of some sort.

Tool:

Dremel.

Method:

Good selection of bits, and some creativity. When I have more time (late, drunk, and in MN righ tnow), I'll post links to the bits I used.

Alright, I've set the date for December, assuming funding is available for everything I want to do lol. What all will I need that will cost me, minus an extra LIM? Do I need to replace the UIM? Or can I just get the gaskets... and should I get the ones from Intense?
