Finally found a car that fits me. Been a rice burner believer for years..........honda accord.acura integra........but nothing.NOTHING drives like my new(used) 1999 Bonnie SLE. Will NEVER buy a JAP car again!!!! Got it for $5400. Has only 85K one owner. Am in love with this car. Mint cond. Just have one already overused question. Mods? Want to start with a FWI from intense. A high flow cat next. What would be the best muffler? Is this the right order of mods? Really not interested in more than getting the engine to breathe better. Any help or suggestions wopuld be greatly appreciated.

Since you mention your background. It'* probably a good starting point for us to mention that you won't be outflowing your exhaust anytime soon. If you like the current quiet sleeper aspect of the car, leave the stock muffler. It'* not hurting your performance at all.
Please ask as many questions as you have, we've debunked many myths and have good solid data to back up the information we do have. Where we don't....we say so.

Thanks for the info. So an fwi is a good choice then? When you mention hooker are you refering to headers? Or to the mufflers in general. When you say I wont be outflowing the exhaust are you saying don't bother with hi flow cat? What would you reccomend for a performance chip?

you can do the hiflow cat, but you wont "need" to do the muffler unless your after sound. and for a performance chip, go to www.INTENSE-racing.com an get one of there reprogramed PCM'*

Thanks to all. Peter...can you reccomend a certain chip? I'm looking for an overall perf upgrade, not a street racer. Does replacing the chip ever cause check engine light probs?

Okey dokey..
Please do us a favor.. put your year and model of car into your profile under signature. It helps greatly.
We don't really have performance "chips", the pcm or computer can be reprogrammed. Check out www.intense-racing.com they are very good and very reasonable. Some others are HPTuners and DHP, although both of them require you to know something about tuning the car.
FWI.. yes..you can make a custom splash shield.. I haven't yet and so far I'm fine ... filter needs to be cleaned though

No problem on anything.. We ask people as we notice that we gotta scroll up to find out what they are driving. It'* looking good.
As far as where to start.. Best advice I can give you is to call Intense 614-873-6499 find a guy named Todd at X108 (yes..it'* from memory), tell him what you have and talk about what you want to do with the car, where you want to end up. He won't steer you wrong. Since calling Intense the first time I've spent a few thousand (w/help from the club members) and never once had a bit of bad advice or poor customer service.
