Supercharger swap

My friend has a supercharged Bonneville 1992 and wants to sell it to me for little money ($250), but i only want to take the appropriate parts for a l67 swap, and give her my old N/A parts.

I should fanagle to take the :
Supercharger
Fuel injectors
Upper intake manifold
Supercharger belt
and what else?

Whoa, wrong direction here.
You could do a series 1 L67 from a series 2 L36 but you need a whole lot more than top end parts. The pcm, fuel system including injectors, an interface for the tranny or a tranny swap....and on and on.

Naw not worth it in my opinion?

Nothing between the two motors other than the valve lifters is compatible.

Ok soo your saying a supercharged 92, cannot be used at all for a 98 sse motor n/a swap

well............i havent looked at the engine yet, i bet the diffrence are obvious, soo if i had a supewrcharged 96-99 engine could i swap the top engine parts like i planned tooo?

harofreak00 03-07-2007 12:15 PM

yes you could swap ENTIRE drivetrains... engine, trans, wiring, pcm, etc...

but nobody in their right mind is going to go from a s2 to a s1...

leave it be.

That's going to cost you far more than swapping the entire drivetrain, or better yet, selling your SSE and buying an SSEi.

They are two different engines.

I'm sure you could do a few searches to see whats needed for the top end swap but from memory:

Supercharger,
Lower intake,
fuel injectors
Fuel rail
harmonic balancer
heads
various pulleys and tensioner assmblies
Wiring harness or adapters
PCM coding

and even after all that your running on a block with higher compression than a stock supercharged motor and putting the power through a light duty transaxle.

A few people have done this, some with good results, some with bad, YMMV.

I know there is the m90 adapter through zz that uses the l 36 heads and block but I know some one who did that and well he was calling ed morad not long after
