Is supercharging a non-supercharged bonne EZ?
Well In order to save some cash Im am thinking of purchasing a 2001 bonneville SLE I was researching it and I can get a superchager for not much like around $450-$1000.
My question is can a put this thing on with relative ease with some semi-experianced car people?

Get the entire supercharged engine, the transmission, the axles, the PCM, the entire engine wiring harness, and the factory service manuals.
Dedicate an engine hoist and at least 2 weeks with little food or sleep. On the 2k generation, it'* been done ONCE by jshelton54 on this Forum.
If you want sanity, sell your car and buy an SSEi. It'll save you time and money, and be long-term reliable.

TJ, first of all, if you never said anything, or your brother didn't post it here, we don't know about it.
Secondly, when you have a TEAM of people that know what they're doing, he can have them get it done easier.
If I had a TEAM here, I could probably do it just as quick, but that doesn't really do the topic author any favors, does it?

This topic has been posted here many many times. Doing a search will help you see all of the alternatives.

nrobbins2424: Welcome aboard, hopefully you find a Bonneville that fits your needs. If you are set on getting that SLE, you'd probably have better luck on modding it to go faster than doing all that requires to make it supercharged.
Here'* a link to an article in our techinfo section about this process (it'* a VERY common question):

If you are bound and determined to have a supercharged Bonneville, it can be done, but isn't easy. If this is the case (wanting a SC'd Bonneville) then you are much buying one that came that way from the factory.

As for a team, yea there was a group of us. But it was a "ok its your car, crawl under it and start unbolting".... "if you get stuck we will help you" and for the most part my brother did it very well. Yea, he is pretty handy but didnt have any 3800 knowledge before hand.
I would say if you know basic things, then you can do it. I would say with just reading a thrend and looking at pics mostly anyone could do it. I mean to take it out, you unhook the mounts, dp, power steering pump, ac, unhook old wiring harness, and pull the axels. Lift it out, and reverse it to put it back in. Yea that is cut and dry but thruthfully i dont really think that it is that hard.
As for the computer issues, he was throwing some codes. Nothing a pcm cant get rid of.

TJ, it'* not as simple as you may think it may be. This was a TEAM of collective 3800 experience and the right tools. You'll get a feel for it the next time you have to swap a motor with no help.
99.9% of the people asking this question don't have those resources available. You know it, so quit selling the idea as a piece of cake. Jared Shelton is no fool, and did it WITHOUT a team, and is advising the topic author not to even go that route, and for good reason.

I have to put my input here non-biased and say this.
I have a 95 SLE that I love to death, I've FE2 swapped the suspension, upgraded the brakes best I could, and have been keeping up with the car to no end. AL7 seats installed, Cadillac auto-dim mirror, the list is endless. The point I want to make here is I myself am eventually putting a Series II */C or Series III */C engine into this car with new Trans, PCM, etc. Am I doing it alone? Hell no, I have people that are helping me, I am learning about these cars but the idea still is NOT easy by a longshot, I've been told some wiring changes, etc etc. If you don't have an SLE and want an */C car, I'd say go SSEi. If you haven't already got the car and have it with you for sentimental value and don't want to get rid of it, there'* just no point.
Also I am re-reading your initial post and I have to address something I think others MAY or MAY NOT have overlooked. You cannot supercharge an SLE simply by slapping on and */C. The Series II N/A and the Series II */C are different, the */C has forged internals and is ready for the */C, the N/A is not.
