Default Back from the track!!!!!!!!!

So went up to Great lakes Dragway tonight with my 01 ssei. On the way up it started to rain, :? we went anyways and we where the 8th car waiting at the gate to get in, there was a 12sec GTP and a low 13 regal, easy to start a converstation with those guys, killing time. I'm not shy. Anyways once track opened I got to run 4 times in row pretty much 4-8 min a run. Than there was a big wreck and waited 45min for clean up, guy hit both walls and spun around. By then there were a lot more cars, then got a little slower and got 3 more runs in and it started to rain, Track closed and we all got a rain checks, 7-runs for free Good for next year too, I'll wait till more mods till I go back, more on that later, or shoul I say coming soon.

Mods: 3.4 pulley
Thrasher CAI
Intense Shift Kit
180 T-Stat

Track prep: took out my headlight, spare tire, jack, my JL stereo floor. Weather was COLD 45 or so, and little less than 1/4 tank of 100 octane.

First run through was the best of the night.

R/T----1.145----I was sleeping best was .704
60'-----2.321----rest of slip was the best accross the board
330'---6.265
1/8----9.548
MPH---75.10
1000--12.363
1/4----14.736
MPH---94.62

I'm happy with that. Biggest problem was no traction. I've decide that a LSD is going to be one of my next mods, going to look into drag slicks too. My buddy came with me and took some good pictures. I'll have them up in a couple of days.

As the short night went on (2hrs), there must of been 10-12 GTPS and regals, I was the only Bonneville, There were 3 WRX'* plus one STI version, A new Dodge NEON SRT-4 Turbo running 13.1'*, sick. Couple civics running 15-16s, handful of F-bodies and Vettes and couple pro stock cars.

Most of these cars were all running low-mid 13'*, got my butt kicked almost every time. I did win 2 good races though. One was a late 90'* Subaru Impreza 2.5 turbo AWD. Spanked my off the line but I couldn't believe that I caught him and blasted right past him, no top end. Afterwards he was laughing at himself saying how my SSEi put him to shame out there.

2nd win was a Caprice Classic 94-96 style SS, the guy asked me if I wanted to put $20 bucks on it, I passed on that I figured LT-1 will waste me. I ran a 14.81,--15.0 for him, Should of taken that bet.

All in all a had a fun time taken the SSEi to the track for the first time, I think I'm hooked, I'm getting mod hungry, I see LSD, Tog headers and probably rockers in my near future.

Impressive running times, I can't wait for Nov 8th for PONTIAC DAY at ATCO. I ran a 15.18 back in April 03. I should be hitting high 14s with my mods now.

02 SSEI
3.4 PULLEY
K&N 9' CONE
160 THERMOSTAT
94 OCTANE

Yeah, I think I'm looking for a set of slicks, want the kind that ARE street leagal so I can swap the fronts at home. Don't care what kinda rims for those. Think I could use the same setup as the GTP guys?

I was pretty happy with my times. Kurt we, have pretty much the same mods so your time should be close, minus shift kit. DBKT2'* mothers 00 SSEi ran 14.6?? with more mods than me, plus rockers and plugs/wires and only a .10 faster. Ok bye me.

What times are other +00 ssei'* runnning here? Can't wait till more mods come.

I actually expected you to run a little quicker than my mom did...she got a crappy launch, she was running on a half tank of 94 octane pump gas, and she let off the gas a hundred feet or so before the 1/4 was over because some debris from the car in the other lane hit her car and scared her. But you also got a crappy launch, and I don't know how well the car was running. But with your mods, and a good launch, I would expect around 14.5 or so out of your car, without the subs around 14.4. If I were driving the SSEi it would pull around 14.3'* or so, so I would expect you to do almost that. The only thing my moms SSEi has over yours is really the rockers, yeah it has plugs and wires but those are just KR killers, they don't help performance much, and you have a shift kit which makes a huge difference because it doesn't take forever to shift, whereas my moms tranny is completely stock.

I couldn't hook up any traction, Stock RSA'* just weren't cutting it. Going to get a LSD now, proabably a C-ya racing one cause he'* local to me and charges $400 for installed. I'm suprised you think I'd be faster than your moms. I haven't autotaped my car yet, but I'm guessing that i have some KR, so her anti-KR mods are beating me, Rockers add like 15-20HP right?
Everyone at the track was having traction problems, the lite mist of rain right at start didn't help any either. There was 2fastGTP was there, running 12.6-8s was his best of the night, his PB was 12.4 I think he said. He had an Intense LSD and I watched one wheel burnout like mad and the other would sometimes spin. All the other guys with the C-ya LSD where getting 2 wheel burnouts everytime.
Anyways it was a fun time and got 7-runs, most where 14.9-15.0 One at 14.88 so I was kinda all over the place, I figure with some better practice launching I could get my times down some. What where your moms 60' times?

Great numbers Taylor
Bone stock cept for a gutted air box and no maf screen got me 10.2 in the eighth mile. In bracket racing its more than power....its consistency and nerving the opponent can win it for ya. My wife ran in the powder puff and beat all the other ladies in cameros and corvettes by playing it cool.
I'm glad you had fun and are now 'hooked'......we need more luxury sport racers out there, just keep it classy and limit the decals to real sponsors.
