DIY? You know it'll only get you 2-3 degrees of timing (6hp at MOST), and probably isn't worth your time? I'm the only one I know of on this Forum to do a DIY happy ****, and that'* exactly what I gained.

Frankly, if you don't know what pot or rheo to get, you don't have a manual, haven't done your homework, and probably shouldn't be doing it.

Mine is wired back to my PCM and is selectable.

The factory service manual is where you should start. I'm hesitant to help you with it considering the negative reaction you've had to our well-advised changes to the setup you have in your car.

I simply used the FSM to determine where to wire in my Estat, Happy ****, and fan override. That'* posted in a topic already.

I'm not about to help you advance your timing on that setup, simply because it would make me partially responsible for you blowing your motor. Even 2-3 degrees of timing with your setup could spell disaster, and we've had people pop pistons with less extreme goofs.

Hey, ****. Look in the mirror. Is there some written rule that says I have to help you blow your motor up? Nope.

Another clue........I don't like being called a ****.

Attitude will get you nowhere here. And he'* had a history of it since he walked in the door.

Anyway, for the S1, the happy **** isn't really worth it for the work, considering the little gain you can achieve. I did it to prove it. Since I have it, I use it, but I honestly can BARELY feel the gain if I'm under load in overdrive with the cruise on (climbing a slight grade) and turn the **** back and forth.

I get more use out of the estat part of the happy box. Cold starts with the 160 thermostat are far too rich for far too long. The estat tricks the PCM into thinking it'* warmer by 20 degrees or so, cutting the time that I'm in fuel enrichment mode.
