BonneMe'* Performance Build Worklog
Hey all, picked up the engine today from zzzzzeke (his dad'* motor really). We talked it up for some time, then i drove back. Rented a tow behind engine hoist (with engine in the back still) hooked up the hitch and ball, and went through Cedar Ave rush hour traffic to get it home.
Got the front exhaust manifold off, drained the remaining oil, and got her on the floor. PIctures to come soon!

The engine is a 93 L27, and i guess it spun a bearing? Yup i've got the reading I'm actually not rebuilding this engine. I'm modifying parts from it, and adding new ones when i put it all on my block. Part of taking this apart is learning all the things you don't read, or see right away.
For one week this summer i'll be in my garage doing...
Major P&P on Heads, Throttle Body, Lower intake manifolds, Exhaust manifolds, a custom cam regrind, longer and significantly ligher pushrods, Full gasket replacement, timing chain replacement, and a Jet Stage 2. I'll also clean up and paint some of the parts too. If i don't pop my hood in rockford till i hit the dragstrip, then i'm probably hiding something
The only things i'm not doing is the cam regrind, unless i can get a guy at school to do it with the specs i'll be using.
Running build cost = $100

I'm doing the P&P work myself!!! The only thing that'* gonna need to be done outside of my world, is the cam regrind. I've got some pix right now, but i'll upload them when i'm at school on monday.
The old motor is Dirty! THe oil in it was black, but the coolant was still pretty green, i saw plenty of that come out.

Hey Jason, when you swap the P&P parts onto your good engine let me know. I am interested in picking up the manifolds for P&P'ing on Ol' Blue.
