Rear Spring Trick.

Rear Spring Trick.
I'm trying out WillWrens handling trick to stiffen up the rearend a little.
I just installed some Coil Spring Stabilizers.
They only increased the rear ride height by about 1/2" but should help to reduce the cornering sway and accelleration squat.
While inspecting GreenZilla when it was up on the hoist at WCBF04, I noticed the rubber spacers stuffed inbetween the coils. Bill noted that he was missing one from the drivers side.....must have fallen out on one of his railway jumps.
Thanks for the idea Bill.

I have spares. They're back in. I may drill a small hole and tie-wrap them to the nearest coil. NASCAR does this before a race, so if they need to add wedge, it'* already hanging there for a quick insert during a pitstop.
They make them out of aluminum and steel, too. You twist them in to lock. It'* tough on our springs, as they're variable rate (uneven spacing between the coils), so you have to pick your spots and sizes carefully.

I used the rubber coil spacers in the coils of my last FWD toy (hopped up tercel) I was going to get another set and run 2 sets on the back... but never got around to it
I really recommend staying sway from the twist lok and compressor style for active suspensions... those will fall out very easy... or possibly launch out causeing damage
the rubber spacers with zipties sounds like an excelent idea..

Update 101.
They worked great for the first week of driving around town with a light load in the car.
.....but when I returned from a weekend highway trip with a fully loaded vehicle, I found the rubber spacers in pieces. Literally cut in half.
These were heavy duty rubber 1 1/4" x 2" blocks with a 2 1/2" spacing distance. Standard for rear coils.
Must have been the loaded trunk ( had to jump on the lid to close it ) and 600 lbs of passengers.
I'll have to look at getting a larger sway bar.....
