Thrasher Shift Kit
Hey guys, just got my thrasher shift kit in today and im exciteddd lol ready to feel some more crisp solid quick shifts ..only thing is ive been looking around and it seems that everyone that has it went with the 2nd setting out of the 3 (3rd setting being the beast setting lol) obviously i want the best performance possible but im thinking that the 3rd setting is a little much for how frequently i drive her...will putting it in the 3rd setting cause any problems? wear and teaR? what do u guys think should i go with the 2nd setting or the 3rd? thanks! heres the link in case ur curious or u wanna see the details..

I got a different brand, but same general idea.
I went with setting 2 because I wanted crisper, but not "jerky," shifts. Also, I'm just a cautious guy by nature.
Whatever you choose, you can go back in and change it upwards or downwards as you desire.

What my auto class and I did in the beggining of my sophmore year was take two Identical trannys and fitted them with a shift kit. One was fitted with a Stage 3 and the other with a stage 2. We put the trannys to the test by putting them in two identical 85 camaros. the one with the stage 3 obviously shifted like a beast while the other one shifted better than stock but not bad at all. The tranny with the stage three took a dump 3 months after installation and the stage two is still out there today.
So what i am saying is just because it is a higher stage, doesnt necesarily mean that its the best choice. Because of how hard the tranny is shifting, something is bound to give out. Its not common sense, but it makes sense. u know what I mean???? Or as we say it here at the bay...yadida mean?!?!?!
Sorry hyper.

Comparing a Thrasher shift kit in a 4T65E to an 85 Camaro with a shift kit designed and built differently by a different company for a different car is like comparing sludge from the bottom of a nuclear reactor to peanut butter.
