Cool Raising a 95 Bonne up like 2.5"

Dont know if this post is in the right section but here we go with the question ! I have 95 Bonne that i put 22" rims on this summer, I put 2 Lifter Knuckles in the front on both sides and 2 of the adjustable lifters in the rear springs. It raised enough in the front, so i adjusted the back to how high the front was to level it out. the only thing was if i put 2 passengers in the back seat, it loward a little and sometimes may rub depending on what type of humps i go across or how im turning only with passengers in back seat. does any one know if there is a taller strut & shocks and springs that may lift it up more, im thinking of going with 24" rims next summer. lookin for the clearence cant have the rubbing.

I think you'll find that most people on this forum are not interested in raising their rides. I'm not sure how much, if any; help you will get. Sorry I can't be of assistance.

Several ways to proceed here. You could lengthen the ride adjustment bar attached to the leveling switch. You could put a zip tie on the leveling switch all the up up and defeat it and add a manual switch of your own to the compressor, but the OEM shocks leak out in time. If you went this route, I would buy aftermarket air shocks. The best way would be to replace the rear springs with airbags. Not real expensive or hard to do.

I was actually thinkin of that with the air bags, but which may fit. I may have to check an Aurora, or Park Ave. Any other suggestions out there ?

so how much higher can i raise it if i go with that type of set up? What about the front end, and does it have as much bounce as springs or no?

With airbags replacing the rear springs, you can go higher than you want. To the point of it looking dumb. LOL Most have about a 6-7 inch lift range from sitting on the tires.

Not much you can do to the front other than what you have. Unless you want to get into some real money spending. Your stock compressor may handle filling rear airbags occasionally. If your going to lift the whole car with air, it'* going to be expensive and a lot of work, Here'* a link to a system thats primitive, bare bones, and goes for $1800.
Airbagit.com

Mine with chrome airtank, dual chrome ViAir compressors, SS braided lines, computer controlled swithbox and digital gauge topped a little over $3k.

Rear airbags are stiffer and in my opinion more stable than coil springs. Especially in tight cornering and twisted roads.

This is what I did. I got a good inch and a half to 2 inches of lift.

I was going to ask you for a write up on the ELC trick Dan (for racing/burnouts), but the way you did this mod looks much better than that. I dont think it would do the rear shocks good to sit up and ride constantly though to clear tires. With airbags he could get the height but still have cushion. My airbags get me in the air with 50 lbs. in them and still good cushioning for bumps and cornering.

The ELC trick is great for the track, but not so much for daily driving. The back end of teh car has no movement, and I mean non at all
