Custom intake
Well this is gonna be kind of hard to explian without pics but ill try. I got bored yesterday and i had one of those cheap intakes from ebay. So i was thinking could i fit this inside my stock air box as a heatsheild? Well i got it to fit and everything seems to work, but i want to know if it is going to hurt anything if i leave it like it is. sorry that i dont have any pics to show you guys though camera broke

you accomplished nothing as far as gaining performance. I think you just added a restriction to the stock airflow which is already very restrictive.

oh i didnt think it owuld be that bad because i already gutted my airbox so the filter goes right at the entreance of the holf where air comes in at. so thats why i didnt think it would hurt anything. The onl reason why i tried was because i was bored lol

I don't see that big of a problem besides the likely POS filter that came with it. That tube will flow much better than the stock accordian tube, and the box should shied the intake (likely WAY too short if left exposed) from sucking in super hot air. Throw on a K&N or other higher quality filter and you should probably be ok.
