Hey Mike....

Is that English? It made very little sense. You might want to slow down while typing.

Intense'* primary focus for Bonnevilles is on the Series 2 motors, which would be 95 or newer.

Mike, please read this:

http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...ic.php?t=73691
and edit your post above accordingly so we can understand you. We'll be able to answer your questions better that way.

And maybe if you give us a better idea of WHAT you want and what your realistic budget is, we can steer you in the right direction.

I was on Intense wes site, they got their **** together. I did not see much offered for my car, well nothing I saw but first vist to site. Am I missing anything on this or do they offer stuff for my car/engine.

I want to add some power with bolt on'* and maybe a little internal, like rockers, so on. Since it looks like they do not offer stuff for my car I get to make another frankenstein kinda motor/ car. I have done this before and loved it, was aMazda 626.
Have lots of left over turbo parts from projects and need a new one. I have 2-3k to play with so I am not sure weather to make power the NA path or turbo.. Help me with some idea and down falls of this engine.

Thanks for the help on this, MIke

ok then.

you currently have the naturally asperated motor. the L27. this puts you at a slight disadvantage over the rest here. begin obviously by giving the motor a through tune up, correcting any mechanical issues that already exist. if you don't do this now any mods could turn a small issue into a huge issue.

the next step is to decide exactly what it is you'd like to do with the car. being that you've worked with turbos before you need to decide if that is the route you'd like to go.

aftermarket parts on the L27 are a little tough to come by but they are availible. there are also gains to be had modifying stock parts. willwren continues to show us this again and again. carefully planning and then porting stock parts to mach one another, combined with properly matched fuel injectors can offer some very positive results.

the L27 is an engine and like any other engine it responds well to typical modifications. rice pipes, heat sheilds, CAI, FWI and ram air all serve the 3.8 well as do exhaust mods. a high flow cat will gain you some, however very few people outflow their stock exhaust, so a muffler change is a personal preferance, rather than a nesseity.

the lower temp thermostats (180-160) fit as well, but the 160 requires a reporgrammed PCM. i may be wrong on this but i beleive the electric water pump for the series 2 motor will also work on the series one. that should be worth quite a few horsepower. i have also removed and bypassed the ac system on my van which i beleive made a small horsepower difference, if you can stand the heat.

Here is a list of what is done so far.. New coils, new wires, new plugs all OEM, jackson racing high flow cat (a left over from miata), Open cone filter(k&n left over also), drilled 180 theromstate, new sway bar end links. and new bfg tires 225-55-17

Here is what is next upper/lower intake gaskets, valve cover gaskets, ported exhaust manifolds, ported inake manifolds(still reading up on that), New struts/shocks, Just ordered custom lowering springs 2in all around, I have a intake kit for a Neon I am close to making fit(come our by tire area). I have a L motor on a stand for donor parts(manifolds so on).
Could be next to do list/last I want to turbo car, not totally commited to this yes, looking into size of Grand national and 06 Eclispe 3.8 turbos, to check on what size and so on. My idea is to use a 1.5 IHA turbo none intercooled with a internal 6.5 lbs wastegate to start small then once I learn the beast. Shoot for the moon.

if you're going to run a turbo anyway why not use an intercooler. it can only serve to help you.

i have a pretty large volvo/saab intercooler i've been trying to sell for a while
