Default Reducer size

Hi all,

A couple of questions regarding a CAI

I have a 2002 SE and am wondering what ID size reducer I need to connect the TB to the CAI pipe?

Is there a cheaper filter then the KX-4750 that has a hole for the sensor or would I have to drill a hole in the pipe to mount the sensor close to the filter?

Thanks for any info!

The outside of your TB is a little bigger than 3.5".

There are cheaper filters, but they don't have the best reputations around here. K&N will give you the best performance in a readily-available filter. There are members who have bought cheap alternatives from parts stores, but some of those filters are so restrictive that when you pour water into them, it doesn't even leak out! If a filter holds water, you're guaranteed that it'* flowing about as many CFMs as a chunk of plywood.

You certainly do not want to cheap out on the filter, trust me.
The RX-4750 is an outstanding filter and will provide pleantiful service, as long as it is maintaind, it allows for the maxium ammount of air possible to be sucked in by the intake.

Default Drilling hole for sensor

If I go with a K&N cone filter that does not have the predrilled hole, does anyone have a good idea on how to mount the air sensor in the tube right behind the filter?

If you are looking to do a rice pipe, the pipe from Autozone has a hole predrilled. It'* not in the best location though. Your best bet is to go to Intense-racing.com and get the IAT extension. Some of the other K&N'* may have a wide enough flange that you can still mount the sensor inside it.

If so drill a hole in the flange mount the sensor and plug up the extension and you are all set

Default Picture of mouning hole

Would someone be willing to take a picture of where the sensor hole is located and either post it here or email it to me?

Default Sensor hole

On the K&N RX-4750 filter.

Need to know what and where it lookes like in order to decide if I would have enough space on the 4990 filter to drill my own.
