My $35 intake

I know it'* not the best, but it was something to kill a little time. I know it'* drawing in hot air, that'* why I call it a "high flow intake" and not a cold air intake. Most intakes you see aren't true CAI by the way. I'm working on a better design. I've just got to figure out a spot to relocate my PCMs. Once those are moved, I can get the filter closer to the fender or even inside of it and away from the heat.
As far as the fumes comment, I'm not really sitting under my hood while I'm driving my car. That seems a little dangerous in the first place.

Hmmm, links didn't work for me for some reason...
You can get a PCM tray from Intense that relocates it under the intake.
As far as the PVC argument, I read lots and been involved in more than one online forum discussion regarding this. Simply put, When heated high enough, PVC can indeed release Chlorides. If these are ingested by an engine long term they can cause serious erosion issues.
However, I have yet to see a definitive study done that shows that the intake tube gets anywhere near the temps needed to start the breakdown of PVC. I very open to data and facts, but just becasue something is "ghetto" or not similar to everyone else'* is not reason enough to bash it, IMO.
Now the flow rate of the filter IS an issue that needs to be looked at and I've seen enough to want mine to be K&N, until some other company shows comperable flow rates.

The PCM tray that Intense sells only works for the 98+ cars. The older PCMs are a little bigger.
If you leave the PCM where it'* at now and get rid of the plastic cover, you can move the filter over so it'* behind the headlight instead of the radiator.
