S1X and 1.7 roller rockers.

Could I run 1.7 rockers with a intense S1X cam?

Would there be any benefit, seeing as I will be close to the limit of flow on stock heads with just the cam?

Thanks in advance.

You would need aftermarket heads or have head work done to the stock heads to allow for that clearance. To my knowledge the S1X just about maxes out stock heads in regards to lift.

There are benefits to running higher ratio rockers with a cam (if you have the clearance.) You get the lift of a larger cam while still maintaining the driveability, the higher ratio rockers open the valve faster too.

Todd aka Rogue runs 1.8 rockers with his S1X cam on Intense Stage 3 heads.

Without port work I don't think you'll see any real gains over running the S1x on the stock ratio rockers, and ~.560 lift is a bit much for stock heads anyways. With a good tune the S1x alone will put a grin on your face all the way to your 6k+ rpm shifts. ;)

Damn I had a brain fart... I forgot about the lift. :?

I don't really want to modify the heads on my car .... I guess I will keep this in mind if I win those Intense stage 3 heads they are raffling.
