Default Question about Fuel Injectors

In preparation for sending injectors for flow matching in the spring when I replace LIM gaskets, I thought I would get 6 additional injectors from a JY so I could send in twelve to FIE, as recommended in this forum. So, are all injectors the same on GM 3.8 from 96 through 99, or do they differ? I have no idea what mine are and can't check them now as car is away in storage. -----1999 SSE.

It is an L36. The question is, are all L36 injectors on GM cars the same? I thought I read somewhere there were different brands, one being Rochester, and IDK the other brand. Also do specs differ on different years. Maybe I could check with FIE, they should know.

There are Bosch and Rochester style injectors. I do not know which injectors go with which years of L36 but I have a set of 0% spread L36 Rochester injectors from FIE for $180 shipped.

I'll see what I can find out if those would work for me. Seems like a reasonable price.

Barry,
It may be a long shot, but call a dealer up with your VIN and see if they can tell you which injectors the car has/came with.
Good luck,
Martin

both styles work with the same results. there is no know advantage or didadvantage to either. if you compare yours with the pics in that limk posted, you can easily identify them.

Hi Marty: I was gonna call a dealer tomorrow and see if they know much. They should be able to tell me what years use same etc.

Sam: That would be easiest, but car is stored and unavailable til spring.

Iglarum: I got the number on your injector from the pic and Googled it and see it is a Bosch. Dealer may be able to cross reference the number. This site may be of some interest to some members looking to replace an injector.

Either style (rochester or Bosch) work with ANY L36. There is no advantage to one or the other, but I wouldn't mix them based on slight variances of spray patterns.

(Barry, I work directly with FIE on all BClub injectors, he'* an acquaintence of mine at work, and I've learned alot from him........I had the first set and was instrumental in setting this deal up for us).

Iglarum'* injectors will work for you, and I have proof positive of their spread %. Ask and you shall recieve.
