PCM reprogramming?
Just curious if there is any kind of tool available to flash and reprogram an OBD-II PCM. I work at an auto dealer and all we can do is flash PCMs and download updated programming onto our Tech 2s. I wanna make my own programming if possible. Any guidance would be helpful.

Not too sure if there is anyone who can do the 1996 PCM or if there is any sort of programm(er) out there for it.
www.gmtuners.com might be able to program it but I doubt that they'll sell you the program to do it yourself, or tell you where you might get one.
Good luck and if you find anything out be sure to let us know here on BC.

I found software/hardware to flash and reprogram a PCM on our Bonnes as well as a variety of other cars! Just took a little googleing. It'* made by a company called HP tuners and it allows for full PCM editing on 97+ Bonnevilles, right down to the binary code. I wonder if it'll work on a 96 since it'* OBD-II. I'm not sure I wanna take a gamble for 500 bucks. The site is here www.hptuners.com But I am thinking of starting an all-encompassing GM V6 tuning shop, so it may be useful for that venture if it materializes.

If you check out www.intense-racing.com you'll see that they sell the HP Tuners suite for the 3800. I want to say that 1996 would not be supported, as Intense only does custom PCM reprogramming for 1997 and later. You could send them an email and I'm sure they would be more than happy to fill you in. In fact, you'll probably get an answer in this thread if Rogue stops by.
