I have a 1994 Park Ave. Ultra with 159k miles on the ticker. My first prioty is to rebuild the sc, I think the coupler may be shot. It makes awful rattling noises at idle. Its embarrsing to go in a drive thru its so loud. But when you drive the noise goes away from what I can tell and even if there is still some I can't hear it. I'm almost postive that someone else had the same problem and it was the coupler. I'm gonna take the belt off today and check for play and see what I get. How can I tell if I may need a new nosedrive? Even through this, that big car hauls some serious butt. It spin the tires rolling along at about 5mph and that is really impressive in my book. My last two cars were a 1995 Mustang GT vert and a 1995 Cougar XR7.

Once I get the sc good and there are no other problems I am gonna work some small mods in. I was thinking about a pulley but with that many miles on the car I dont know if thats a good idea because its never had that much stress on it. I don't really want exhaust because it kinda defeats the "Buick" purpose. BUT if I could find something thats not to loud or anything but would help with performance I will. I am also looking for an intake for this thing so If anyone could help me out there I would appreciate it. Thanks Guys

That rattle only at idle could also be your harmonic balancer. Although a coupler tends to be a rattle, and the HB tends to be a clatter. Hard to describe.

You'll have to remove the SC entirely from the car for a Series 1 coupler change. You can also rebuild your ND yourself if you have experience replacing bearings. Otherwise, a rebuilt ND from www.canadiansupercharger.com may be in order. With the miles on your car, it'* a safe bet.

After that, the first thing you need to do is get a scantool. You have to know if you have KR before and after a pulley change. You also need to verify with a gauge that your fuel pressure is up to par and will support a smaller pulley. In addition to this, you MUST verify that your exhaust manifolds don't have any cracks and aren't leaking. From there, you should be ok. On a Series 1 L67 with a smaller pulley (one step down, for you would be the stock 92/93 pulley or a 2.5" from www.pulleyboys.com ), I'd strongly suggest a high-flow catalytic converter, particularly with your high miles.

Don't forget the basic tuneup items. Including an O2 sensor if it'* been in there for 50-60k miles. It needs to be in top form.

One thing i did to the car, was put a camaro style muffler on the exhaust. It has dual outs, and looks really nice. Its not a performance exhaust or anything, just a stock camaro muffler mounted sideways. Might be something you look into.

I wonder if the Park Ave use the same sideway mounted muffler as the Bonnevillles and LeSabre'* do?

They do. But there'* little to no performance to be gained from that. The stock exhaust (not including the cat) will support alot of mods before it has to be upgraded.
