Rockers installed, two calfs delivered

Had my INTENSE rockers installed today. The butt dyno loves the feel.
I didnt get any pics, hands were dirty. But just as we were getting everything put back together one of the installers parents cows (cattle farm) was giving birth so we had to run out and give a hand with that. Since I've helped birth horses it was nothing new to me.

After the the cows we finished cleaning up, after a little warm up we took it out for a little AutoTap. No knocks was running a little lean (870) and the PCM is retarded. Right around 90mph it kills timing, -4 degrees. Ouch. But a INTENSE PCM will take care of that and a few other things. 8)

All the fun happens when i'm not around..

The PCM would not pull timing unless KR was detected. Make sure your loging Knock Retard and not Knock Count (which doesnt show anything). My guess is your running lean and thats causing knock and your right about the pcm helping that. Rockers will make you run a little leaner due to the more air being allowed in the mix. Let the PCM learn your setup for a few days and log again.

They feel pretty good don't they?

:)

wow you really strapped on some power in the last week...

So are you going to come up to Brainerd International Raceway July 14th with Jason and I?
I wonder how your car will run compared to, say, a Series II L67 Bonnie. Yours mods + steeper gear ratio vs. stock SSEi = Would be interesting. Definitely time for a day at the track (once you get the PCM).
So, when do you think you'll do the Intense PCM?

I'm probably not coming, i don't have a helmet, or battery tie down, and I'm trying to conserve funds.

You don't need a helmet unless your running 13's (NHRA rules) unless your track has its own rules.

Well he said I did, checking sites.

Back on topic... I wanna hear that engine going smellbird. With raised shiftpoints and all.

BIR = mandated helmets. Looks kinda funny seeing a Ford Festiva pulling a 3.5 short time and the kid is wearing a helmet, and then he finishes with something like a 19.xxx.

Other than $20 for the gas to drive to BIR and back the only cost I can forsee would be the cost of entering ($20). Only gets higher if you want the niceties such as racing gas, fancy stickers (gotta get more power from somewhere to pick up where the Eaton does on the L67's)

But then there is also the time off work as the racing time is from 3-8PM.
