ARRRGGHHH! Jet Chip woes!
Hey Guys,
Well I finally got the replacement Jet Chip! And yes Will it was a piggyback style!
BUT...
It didn't even fit! Too many male pins on the attachment to the jet chip and also the jet chip wouldn't fit into the computer!
ARRGGGHHH!
I was smarter this time and installed it right in their parking lot! Went back in and showed it to them. Needless to say they gave me my money back. But I really just want what I paid for! This SUCKS!
They say they'll phone Jet to see if they can get a custom burn and also suggested superchips. But we are talking three week waits on those! So I don;t know! I am really pissed off right now! The bonnie remains just as slow as everyone else'* on the road!
The only good thing is that I can now take out and install a chip in exactly 2.5 minutes!

Go back and get it. It'* supposed to have too many pins. The other ones aren't used. You can also put it in wrong. One way won't fit, the other way barely fits. I think you had the right one.

Will,
Man! You are gonna fight me every step of the way! LOL
It is NOT the right chip! The shop guys even verified it, you think they'd give me my money back if it was the right chip?! There was NO way to make this thing fit!
It wouldn't have even clicked into the computer! Let alone allow the stock PCM to plug onto the Jet chip! Even the instructions on the diagram show a COMPLETELY different setup than mine!
Not to be overbearing and I know you are just trying to help but come on man! Its not like I just picked up a wrench yesterday! I may be new to fuel injected performance but I've been wrenching for a long time!

I know where this guy is coming from. Superchips sent me the same thing, was no way to even plug it in. It was an adapter for the wrong computer. I called them, had it send back towards credit for a custom burned chip. Do what you wish, but if you have had this much trouble it might not be worth your effort. :(

Thanks Allmachtige and jr's3800 for the support! Oh and jr's3800 yeah the chip they sent was waaay too large! It didn't even have the correct clips on it to fit the computer!
I really dunno about all of this crap! I have given the shop all of the information possible about the computer (ie. numbers etc.) and they still can't get it right! Its depressing thinking how much trouble this whole situation has been. I am now dreading the 2.4" pulley from pulleyboys, with my luck that thing isn't gonna work out either!
Oh and I ordered the chip through Unlimited Performance in Calgary, Hector. I couldn't decide if you were asking me or DavidSSEi so...

ixlr8, when you DO get the right chip, it WILL have too many pins. Trust me. The piggyback only uses a certain number of pins necessary to modify the inputs. It freaked me out when I got mine. That'* where I was going with that one. I figured the odds of you getting hosed twice in a row were slim. I guess not. Hosed, and hosed again. See what Hector can do for you. He'* pretty close to Jet.
That'* where I got mine. Right chip the first try.
