Default Going to the track on the 22nd

Going to the Track 1 week from today. Great Lakes Dragway Wensday the 22nd.
Hoping I'll be in the 14'*, should be with my mods listed below. Hopefully the stereo weight won't hold me back into the 15'*.

Going with my Buddy John who is a beer delivery man, He is going to bring his 94 Lincoln Mark 8. It has 130K on it, he recently just put in a chip, CAI and new exhuast and tires on it just for the track. I figure it will be a close race now. It'll be fun none the less. Hopefully the SSEi comes out on top.

I was at Great Lakes a few months back...a lot of people dislike that track and I don't know why. I didn't have the chance to race on it, but I was hearing lots of negative comments. Anyway. have fun!

Also, where do you live? You must be near.

Anyways, good luck at the track. If you are worried about the extra weight, take out anything that isn't (permantly) bolted down. Empty the truck of the jack and the spare. Take out the amps and the subs if you can.

Remember, time slips don't lie, but you don't have to tell your friends HOW you got the numbers.

I live in Elmhurst,IL About 50 min. from GLD. I might take out as much out of the trunk as I can. Haven't decided yet. I already DO have some 100 octane in just waiting to kill my little bit of KR and bring down the time a tenth or two.
Also got my Intense Shift Kit in last week in prep for this track outing.
What did you hear bad about GLD Allmachtige

My Beer man buddy John, we get kegs for cost baby. Lots of kegger parties!!!

How do you like that shift kit? Getting it myself in a few weeks, just wanted to know your thoughts...

Like the shift kit a lot, read more here http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...pic.php?t=9631

Oh I will have fun at the track. Now I'm thinking I'll take out as much as I can. Just won't open the trunk.

Is that sub box you have made pretty easily removable?

I dont think the weight will be that much of an issue, getting better traction to the front wheels is the key. You have lots of power, but your tires will have a hard time hooking up. Dont preload too much (1500 rpm is lots) and ease into the pedal, you want to be at wot by the 60' mark. This takes practice, lots of it too.
One thing you may want to consider is adjusting the rear suspension auto leveling device. It is located behind the drivers side rear wheel, loosen the outer bolt (13mm) and slide the sensor down as much as you like (there is about 2 inches of play here) then re tighten. when you turn the ignition back on it will lift the rear end up to what it thinks is level.
I was planning on a write up with pictures to show how this is done but work and poor weather has kept me from it.
