Default A Clue?

I bought my 99 SE a few month back and I love this car. The first thing I did was buy a rice pipe. I then removed The MAF screen. The car runs great but, every now and then, from a dead stop, I stomp it and it seems flat. Other times it will smoke the tires big time. 80,000 miles. Time for a tune up? It runs smooth and hauls @$#&! I just read a post on top end cleaner. Would this help? Could anyone recommend plugs? What else should I do to this cream puff at 80,000?

I think you will get better response in cooler weather compared to hot blistering days.

yep, temperature has a hugemongous effect....the hottest my car has ever gotten was almost to the 240 line, and it felt so gutless and just like it was tired...240 engine sucking in 90+ air....not exactly sporty try seeing how the temp is when your doing your testing.

That sucks.

Seriously though, does it bog down or just slowly accelerate?

It does both and being in the south during summer doesn't help.

I believe in tune up before mod up.

Get a 180 T-stat.. top end cleaner won't hurt *unless you're in the back suckin in all the smoke * plug and wires.. fuel filter..

Another thing is when you say it'* gutless. was the A/C on? They affect every cars performance ( IMO that I've driven mine or not )

Personal habit of mine.. if I know I will be in a rush hour stop and go traffic I turn the A/C on so both fans will run under the hood.. it doesn't help the MPG or oompah !! take off the ine.. but it'* better then walkin home or being one of those people on the side of the road with hood open and steam coming out.

I use TR55 NGK plugs..
