Nothing.
The diode pack does the job of rectifying alternating current into 12v DC. It doesn't care which way the rotor is turning.
There is a clue in the word alternator, it generates current alternating in polarity, the diode pack aka rectifier has the job of making the current flow in linear form, the voltage regulator has the job of - guess what! - stabilising the voltage.

Why do you want to run the alternator in reverse anyway?.

I am building a land speed car. The engine is mounted with plates and there is no place for an alternater. Unless I turn it around.

Thanks

the car is a 1980 chevy monza hatch back. I have installed an LQ4 6.0 in it. Right now it is basically stock except the Texas Speed 233/239 cam. IT has a jerico 4 spd and Ford 8.8. It runs in the C/CGC class and category which translates to small block v8 "Classic Gas Coupe". I cant run fi or computers except for an MSD box. On top right now is a Demon 750 and victor jr manifold. The engine came right out of the junk yard last June and we took it strait to the track and did 154.7 @ 6000rpm. Gearing was the limiting factor, she went strait to the redline. Not bad for bone stock. The record i am going for is 174.7mph. Hopefully the cam will help and i am changing the 3.08 to a 2.73 gear.

I had a Monza once, bigges POS American car I ever owned.
It was a worn out rusty Iron Duke powered piece of nastiness, the gear linkage was worn to the extent that it would try engaging 2 gears at once.
I was given it and still felt ripped off.

Good to hear of one being put to good use.

Remember to post up your 174.7+ mph time slips - good luck!.

I remember the Monza as the car where you had to lift the engine to change the back spark plugs.
