I'ma run in the local Auto x club races the third, so I figure I might as well start figuring out my next mod now. Anyway....

What can I do for bang for my buck to really show the locals whats up?

Water Injection is allowed, worthwhile? 70 is basically the top speed... I can bark up to about 16-18.. (old tires)

Well... I kinda need the tires, and to take apart my battery tray and get it working real nice so I don't have to bungee my batery down, and to clean all the change out of the car....and to get everything balanced/rototed/aligned... but the mods are more fun...

Dame, they make a good tire. Most imported tires are excellent, if you read the ratings for Sumitomo, Kumho and Toyo, you'll be pleased. And its a great price for those tires.

Go for it

Go for a bit wider tire for better lateral movement. The sway bar is going to help and so would lowering the car but spendy$$.
I would put my money into something like 245/50/16 Yokohama AVS ES100 Tires?
You already have good brakes and intake, what do you have for exhaust? Could help to go with a high flow cat?

I've got $550 set for tires/mounting/balance/alignment.. The whole nine yards.

Some Yokohama Avid T4's would be nice only $87, or step up to V4's for $92... But what speed rating do I need? I'm looking for something that I am as safe as posible when travelling, But I also want a tire that will make it almost impossible to break loose, that's getting annoying... Maybe some Kuhmo Ecsta's... I've never bought new tires before, I have "Continental" on the back, both very worm from my camber or toe being off, a "Fisk Classic" on the front pass, and a "Classic" and the front driver.... For $40 worth of rubber they do what I expected....

Suspension is gonna be your biggest problem. That, and learning to handle a heavy ass FWD car. Maybe you could build a handbrake? :wink:

Since this style of racing requires lots of braking, what about some custom air ducting to cool the brakes?
Lower gears will also help as the top speed is only 70mph you want to get there quick.
