Quick Reply Plz! Intake Tube Length!!!

How does it affect the CAI? Im making one today with hard PVC pipe, and I have to know where to cut. I have a 90* bend, I didnt want to have to use it, but the regals under the hood have very limited space as the 3.1L was supposed to be the engine used in my gen. Anyways, I need to know how long I should make the PVC tube, for performance.

And guys, how big of a sound difference will this intake make over the stock airbox with stock piping and filter, switcing to my pvc pipe with K&N? thanks

i'd say bring it as close to the headlight/air source as possible.

the open cone filter will definately be an increased sound compared to the stock airbox. Especially on cold starts, you really hear it sucking air!

yes i agree the intake will make a definate difference in sound. with the n/a cars its usually a lower growl from what i remember. any chance we could get a picture of your engine bay so we could help ya out?

Glue it all together without cutting off the end, line it up on the car and with the filter. Now, imagine the filter in a place as to fit inside the car, and remember to leave a lip for the filter to hook to. On a 93 SE the straight section is 10.5 inches with a 45.

I didnt use a 45* angle, I used a gradual 90* because of the lack of space for the 3.8L under the W-Bodies hoods. Look:

My airbox hooks up to a port behind the headlight, Im aiming for the filter to almost reach the front there.......
