Question on manifolds.

I am having a friend get my extra set of manifolds welded up and lightly ported. My question is on how significant the heat shields are on them? Is it impearitive that I make sure the are reinstalled or will I be ok with coating them and runing them like they are. I have looked around through the EM articles a have not found anyone stating that I have to reinstall them or _____ will happen. Thanks for any help in this area.

just wrap the maniflods and go on down the road. lower temp higher exaust valosity (i know i spelled it wrong) idk if anyone has done it on a bonni yet but it helps

Pretty sure that wrapping them causes cracking, but I'll let a pro chime in here.

Don't wrap the manifolds :nono:

They will crack on ya quicker than if they weren't wrapped.

Here is what willwren is running on his PEM's

Ok cool Dbeast420 thanks for that info I may have to order that stuff. However I see that Willren coated over the shields. So my question still stands. If I use this coating will I be ok with leaving the shields off the manifolds?

Drill the rivets out of the shields. Weld the cracks and port.

Coat the manifolds and re-rivet the sheilds back on.
