Whats the cheapest easiest perfomance mods for a L36
I have a 1995 bonnie se series II 3800 and was wondering what are the cheapest easiest mods u can do to get extra horsepower I know on ebay u can get a K+N intake setup like this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/K-N-B...04006980QQrdZ1 for $35 plus shipping think with a high flow cat u get some hp? Also it looks like I have 3 inch exhaust from my engine to the cat and then like 2.5 inch exaust from the cat back??? Are roller rockers ez to install do they each have like different tourque specs on each one or is there a special way of doing those? Also wana high velocity TB 180 stat.... Give me some options please and some good sites with l36 performance parts thanks

that intake is too short for the engine bay of a Bonne. Thay intake is made for the W body.
For a Good intake setup, Like most of us have look here http://www.bonneville.fearthepearl.c....php?page=mods towards the bottom. You have a 2.5 mandrel bent exhaust tubing
Rockers are not really hard to do but you have to know what you are doing
A HVTB really wont show any gains for you
I would get a 180* in there as your First mod
and look at www.intense-racing.com and www.zzperformance.com for the L36 parts

The best bang for your buck would probably be ported exhaust manifolds for $175.

Your manifolds are 1995/Bonneville specific and NOT interchangeable. Trust me I found this out the hard way.

Before modding be sure you do a full tune-up so the mods will add power rather than get you somewhat close performance-wise to where you would be with a tuned up bone stock car.
Tune-up should consist of:
Spark Plugs (can do NGK TR-55'* as they are a good plug for a stock or lightly modded car)
Spark Plug wires (might as well get the good ones right away -I suggest Belden Premium Blue wires from NAPA)
Fuel filter
PCV valve
clean the throttle body
Then do the 180* t-stat, CAI and start your exhaust work.
Team up the ported manifolds with rockers and this high flow cat and you will have a noticable gain in power (not supercar power, but enough to make you smile). The tuneup and these mods would probably net you another 20-25 hp, and probably a 15.5 -15.7'ish 1/4 mile.
