Porting Manis
How hard is it to port your own manifolds? Are they tricky to get off or back on? I've been thinking about this for a few days now, thinking of something to do when it warms up. It would be a nice afternoon project with my dad. Got everything needed to do this except for a welder which I could borrow from a buddy or rent (& new gaskets).
If you've done it speak up and offer any tips or tricks please Thanks, Ed |

I should have pics up of mine from Hulkspeed by the end of the week. ;) |
Hulkspeed is the way to go for PEMS

Porting the stock Series II manifolds are not hard. Taking them on and off is pretty easy. When you put then back on, takes a little adjustment since it is a ball and socket joint which takes with a donut which sometimes leaks if you don't tighten it just right.
To port the manifolds, you need to add weld more material on the underside of each exhaust port. That is where it is very thin wall casting and in order to open it up more you need more material so you don't punch a hole through it. All you have to do is use a die grinder (not a dremel spins too fast) with some grinding rolls. (Forgot the correct name for them right now.) All you need to do is clean up the first 2 inches of the port and leave the rest alone and just open it up to the gasket size. Actually most of the work you want to pay attention to is floor since it is pretty crappy and smoothing it out and you will notice a pretty big difference especially on a S/C car. But that's my advice. =) |

Awsome! This sounds like a good way to go for me till (if ever) I get some headers. Boosty will keep me updated on his.
I want it to warm up outside already so I can stand around and play under the hood and not lose feeling in my hands. |

Pat says Dbeast has his set..and they look great.. (You'd think with all the pics those two took...they might have snapped at least one of them  ) They do have core return...however they might not have your manifolds in stock until you order them. Travis was mentioning getting more of the manis to stock for the bonnes. |

Here's the different PEMs he offers. Manifolds |
Wow those look purdy! Now what kind of gains would be had with pems? 5-10hp? ( not to mention a reduction in KR if you do have some. ) Dbeast can you post a few picks of those on your motor? 8)
